Bhavana's fourthcoming film Jeyamkondaan

Cute Actress Bhavana was touted to be one of the promising contenders for the top position in Tamil filmdom; however Bhavana could only count her debut Chithiram Pesuthadi as a hit of the half a dozen movies she starred in so far.

Yet, her girl-next-door looks and the innate naivety that she sports has gained her a decent name among the press. For the same reasons, Bhavana has not been written off yet and still has Jeyamkondaan to bank on.

“I am aware that few of my movies did not do well, but I’ve all my hopes pinned on Jeyamkondaan,” Bhavana was quoted as saying. Jeyamkondan’s director Mani - who hails from the Mani Ratnam’s stable - also vouched for her.

According to him, the movie will serve as a re-launch pad for Bhavana whose talents were buried in candy floss romances so far. Shot mostly in and around Tamil Nadu, Jeyamkondan’s crew will fly to Russia and Uzbekistan for the song sequences.

For Jeyankondan, she has dubbed for her own and says that she has taken maximum care to ensure that her Tamil diction is proper and flawless.

Gone are the days when fan clubs were the exclusive property of male stars alone. Nowadays, there has been a mushrooming of fan clubs for Kollywood’s leading ladies too.

While there has always been tremendous fan support for Kollywood”s leading ladies (remember the temple for Khushbu?), fan clubs seem to be a more recent phenomenon. Kollywood Actress Bhavana success story

Bhavana is happy with the success of Arya. But the actress is not in a hurry for accepting more roles in Tamil films. The actress says, ‘I never bother about the number of films I’m doing, but am concerned only about the quality of my role and the crew…’

Though she is concentrating in all four southern language films, she loves to act in Tamil films. What prompted her to prefer Tamil instead of her mother language films? She says, “Tamil directors are quite understanding by nature. Most of them portray the female characters with care and dignity…”

Bhavana has been inspired by the legendary actress Savithri after seeing some of her classic films. “I happened to see some of her classics recently. She was an excellent performer. I was really impressed with her versatility in acting. I’m going to follow her style of acting in my future films…” the actress said excitedly.

Meanwhile, Bhavana-Jeeva will be going to Vietnam for the shooting of their latest Tamil film Rameswaram . A six member crew of the film will also accompany them to shoot a song sequence, and a few important scenes are to be shot for the film. The film is based on the lives of Tamil refugees from Sri Lanka who are languishing in the camps of Rameshwaram.
