Tabu have a new Companion now

Actress Tabu seems to have found her new companion. The actress is being graced at several places with the director, Lovely Singh in the last couple of weeks. The director is one among the invitees of her Diwali bash apart from her close friends and family.

Bollywood is at buzz that these both are hanging out together. Well, the other news is that Lovely Singh who is planning to direct ad films is trying to cast this National Award winning actress by leaving all the younger actresses of today. Lovely happens to be the close friend of Tusshar Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor too.

What might be the reason behind this is a million dollar question!

In a virtually actor dominated industry, she’s one actress who stands apart. Tall in stature and taller on talent, Tabassum Hashmi casts a verrryyyyy long shadow.

Tabu, as she’s more renowned, has proved her worth in worthwhile efforts such as ’Maachis’, ’Chandni Bar’, ’Astitva’ and ’Hu Tu Tu’. With Ramesh Taurani’s ’Toh Baat Pakki!’, the national award winner will display her skills in the comic genre.

Most filmmakers regard her as the "hero" in her flicks, though, Tabu is queasy donning that hallowed aura. "All this is fine for the ego," she asserts in a media chat, "When I’m playing the protagonist, I have to work that much harder to come up with an outstanding performance."

Sharman Joshi who shares screen space with Tabu in ’Toh… reveals in a tabloid quote, "Earlier, she’d called me up after seeing ’Life In A Metro’ and ’Rang De Basanti’ and described my performance as ’superlative’. I was flattered, happy and humbled. When we started shooting together, I realised that she’s not just a fine actor, but a hassle free person, as well." Notch one more to the Tabu list…

Getting the much talented Tabu give a nod for the film is already a star added to the USP of the film and above that if it has Tabu in a naughty and sensusous role it must definitely be something. So, for the first time Tabu will play a hard core sexy and naughty character for Ravi Chopra ’s ‘Banda Ye Bindaas Hai’ which is a remake of the Hollywood comedy, ‘My Cousin Vinny’.

Reports have it that when Tabu she was first offered the part by him she had declined it, but after a lot of deliberation, Chopra managed to get The Namesake starlet going in for the role, which will also have the actress exposing on-screen though not in a vulgar way.Tabu will be seen playing a lawyer and fights the court case opposite Govinda

The Oscar winning original Hollywood movie had Joe Pesci playing a bumbling middle-aged lawyer fighting his first case, a murder case, to hilarious consequences. In Chopra’s film, Govinda shall be replacing Joe Pesci whereas Lara Dutta will play his girl friend’s role. For the nasty public prosecutor’s part, Chopra has decided to cast a female character instead of the male in the original, which shall be enacted by Tabu.

Tabu’s loss is Amisha Patel’s gain

Separation from her boyfriend Vikram Bhatt has inspired Amisha Patel to focus more on her career. After landing with a crucial role in Kunal Kohli’s next film under Yashraj banner, the actress has taken a step further and has bagged in a meaty role in Shah Rukh Khan’s home production ‘Billoo Barber’, a comedy to be directed by Priyadarshan.

The film is about two childhood friends - a barber (played by Irrfan Khan) and a rich filmstar (played by SRK himself). The film is apparently inspired from the mythical Krishna-Sudama story. It is reported to be a remake of Malayalam film ‘Katha Parayumbol’.
Amisha Patel has been signed to play Irrfan’s wife. However,
she will also be sharing some scenes with Shah Rukh. Tabu was the first choice for the role but she declined the offer to Amisha’s gain.
