Sameera Reddy surprised by her Birthday Gifts.

IKLAN

sameera-reddy[1]1

Sameera Reddy had a triple bonanza this year on her birthday. She celebrated her birthday in Mumbai along with her most parents and she was in for a big surprise when her parents gifted a latest brand new white color BMW 5 series car. Not just that they also gifted to her a posh and exclusive deluxe flat. She of course felt wonderful. And lo… her birthday surprises did not end here because director Priyadarshan surprised Sameera on her birthday by signing her for his Hindi film with Ajay Devgn.

However, Sameera was to have celebrated her birthday on 14th December in Chennai on the sets of her untitled film with Vishal directed by Prabhu Deva. However Prabhu Deva gave her a break from the shoot so that she could fly to Mumbai and take part in a “surprise birthday celebration” party which was being arranged by her parents and friends.

Sameera tweeted “Just landed from Chennai back to Mumbai. Good to be back home for my birthday.” About working with Prabhu Deva, the actress tweeted “He is such an awesome director. He insisted I be home with family today. My mom and dad are thrilled.”

Actress Sameera Reddy , who is looking gorgeous after losing weight, misses a man in her life.

"It gets really lonely. And I know I’m looking my best these days. Thanks to yoga, I’ve lost oodles of flesh," Sameera told IANS.

"But what’s the point of looking good when you’ve no one to admire you?"

After her sister Meghna’s marriage Sameera remains solitary here.

"My sister Meghna is now married to a Greek and settled on the most exotic Greek island. My brother-in-law spoils me silly. They both love me because I convinced our conservative dad about the unlikely marital alliance," she said.

Sameera turned 27 recently and her birthday turned out to be a very special occasion when filmmaker Priyadarshan, who has just given the actress her first hit since "Race" in "De Dana Dan", turned around and said, "You’re in my next film".

Sameera, who has become close to Priyadarshan and his wife Lizzie and in fact spends all her free time during her frequent visits to Chennai in their house, is still reeling in pleasure.

"I couldn’t have got a better birthday gift. Firstly, it turned out to be Priyan and Lizzie’s marriage anniversary. So we had my birthday and their anniversary party at Shristi Behl’s residence. All three of us Lizzie, Priyan and I cut a cake," she said.

The icing on the cake was Priyan’s impulsive offer.

"I don’t need to ask him what it is or in which film. I trust him completely. He gave me a role in ’De Dana Dan’ that did justice to my presence. This at a time when I was desperately trying to shed my sexy image," she said.

Not many people know this, but Sameera has a special appearance in the Bihar-based film that Priyadarshan is shooting with Ajay Devgn, Akshaye Khanna and Bipasha Basu.

"How do you know about this?" Sameera demands to know. "So that makes it three film with Priyan. I’m really lucky to have Priyan and his wife as friends. Now when I go to Chennai which is like a second home to me thanks to the work that I do. In fact, my latest Tamil hit was mixed in Priyan’s studio in Chennai, so the bond thickens."

But her film with Nagesh Kukunoor - "Yeh Husla" - remains stuck.

"That’s because the producers have bungled. They’re in a real financial mess. They owe almost everyone associated with them quite a lot of money."

Sameera Reddy sparked rumours when she appeared at the Fashion Week with a plumper upper lip than usual. The apparent surgery is the latest step in the line of makeovers (gone are her curves, and she now sports an extra-skinny avatar) that she has been undergoing to revamp her acting career.

The actress denies having her lips enhanced, "I haven’t done anything to my lips! Are you joking?" A friend of the actress adds, "Sameera hasn’t done any lip surgery. It’s because she has lost weight drastically in the last three months that her face looks more chiseled and lips fuller.

Sam has a natural pout and because her features have got accentuated her lips are looking plumper. Sam is extremely confident and happy with what she is gifted with and would never adopt artificial means."

How to get thicker lips

Lip augmentation can take an hour, correcting a serious mistake can take years - often with little result.

Dermal lip fillers: They are temporary, and will require top-ups. While some advertise their permanence, the result of permanent fillers often is lumpy and bumpy, so it’s advised to stay away.

Collagen Injections: Derived from cattle connective tissue, it used to be the most popular lip filler. Which changed after some high-profile people ended with near-disastrous results. The effect can last up to 18 months.

Cosmoderm/Cosmoplast: This filler is made from human skin grown in a lab. Gross but less painful than other fillers. Maybe you can ask to grow your own.

Fat Transfer: Blobs of fat from other parts of your body, such as your thighs and butt, are injected into your lips!

Restylane: An injectable gel, whose effect lasts for up to nine months.

Tissue Transfer: Tissue from your mouth is taken and thread into lips for a permanent, plumped up look.

Rumours have been circulating that Sameera Reddy is preparing to exit Bollywood after a string of disappointing films.

The actress began her career in 2002 with Maine Dil Tujko Diya but has failed to score a major box office hit since, with the exception of Race in 2008, in which she had a supporting role.

Reddy is now said to be considering making a move to Hollywood in a bid to revive her career, while One India reports that she could head back to her home city of Hyderabad.

Earlier this year, the actress told The Times of India that Kollywood roles were interesting her more than those in Mumbai.

She said: "I have so many friends here [Chennai] and never feel out of place in the city

"Chennai is slowly becoming a priority, with the many number of films that Kollywood filmmakers are offering me now. It looks like I’ll surely be here more often in the future."

Rumours circulate about everybody, but as long as my family is clear about me-SAMEERA REDDY

IKLAN

Actress Sameera Reddy

Sexy actress, SAMEERA REDDY is right now shooting for Nagesh Kukunoor’s tentatively titled film Bemisaal at Kherjala Fort, some two hours drive away from Jodhpur.

The city girl is staying in the 200-year-old fort totally cut off from the outside world with no newspapers or TV for company. “The power sometimes goes off at night and it gets so dark but it’s a beautiful place,” says the actress, adding, “it’s quite tough for a city girl like me. I miss Bombay and I miss eating a hot bhutta at Bandstand when it rains. For me, rain is romance,” says the girl. She continues, “But Nagesh is like that when he shoots a film. He expects his actors to concentrate on their roles and hence takes them away from their natural setting. In this way he takes out great performances from them,” says sexy Sam who’s playing the interesting role of a Dalit woman in the film. “It’s a fiery, character-driven role and I loved the way Nagesh has shaped up the realistic role,” she reveals going all ga-ga over the film.

After playing dumb blonde in Race, Sameera seems to have finally arrived in Bollywood and how! She’ll be seen in Priyadarshan’s next as well as in a film called Red Alert based on the naxalite movement by Aruna Raje. She’s also awaiting the release of her animation film Mahayodha Ram where she’s given a voiceover for Sita.

There’s also Mira Nair’s film Migration in her kitty. Ask her about the sudden change and she replies excitedly, “Race was actually the turning point in my career. It was a challenging role for which I was appreciated a lot. Now I get access to a lot of good roles. I can pick and choose films that are more commercially viable. Basically I want to do work that I’m passionate about. In a way my mindset has changed towards roles and films,” explains Sameera. So has she taken a break from doing movies down South? “I’m also doing films in the South as we can’t overlook their popularity in the world market. In a way, I’m trying to maintain a balance between Bollywood and Tollywood,” she says.

Coming to her personal life, is she still single? “I’m single till I’m not married,” she says not wanting to talk anything more about the topic. And how does she manage to keep her personal life under wraps? “Well, some people really wear their heart on their sleeves. I’m not like that. I believe that if you let people into your life, then you become answerable to them. I guard my personal life very ferociously. People might speculate a lot of things but I feel I’m answerable to them only for my work, nothing more,” she says sternly, adding, “Rumours circulate about everybody, but as long as my family is clear about me, I don’t care about anybody else.” That’s sexy Sam for you - bold and beautiful!

...She is the youngest sister of top models and VJs, Sushma and Meghna Reddy...

Sameera Reddy was born on 14th December 1978 and will be 29 this December of 2007. She is the youngest sister of top models and VJs, Sushma and Meghna Reddy.

Sameera’s is a trained Kathak dancer and she loves swimming, dancing and playing video games. She just cannot do without working out in the gym. Yoga is another one of her favorite activity and she absolutely hates fatty and fried foods.

Sameera Reddy first shot to fame with Pankaj Udhas’s music video Aahista. She did the video when she was in college. In the video she played a demure character, as opposed to her current sex symbol image. In her school days she was very fat and was teased a lot for that. But everything changed when she started working out. Nowadays she is called the Indian Jennifer Lopez.

Her debut on silver screen was through Sohail Khan’s Maine Dil Tujhko Diya, in which she played an introverted girl. Although she gave competent performance, the subject was not good and the film didn’t work out. The film that resurrected her career was Ram Gopal Varma’s Darna Mana Hai. Sameera’s sizzling dance in it was widely appreciated. But the film that brought a drastic change in her image was Musafir, directed by Sanjay Gupta. Musafir is still considered to be one of the hottest films in Bollywood. After that she got many offers but decided to take it slow and do only few, but good assignments.
Sameera also did a couple of films down south, one of them with Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi. Both were huge hits. She also did a Bengali film ‘Kalpurush’ with renowned director Buddhadeb Dasgupta. ‘Kalpurush’ is perhaps her best work so far. She also did a few Hindi films like ‘Taxi Number 9211’, ‘No Entry’ and ‘Naksha’.

She is the only Bollywood actress who has a video game to her credit. Sameera, an ardent fan of video games, has been working on the game ‘Sam’s Mission’ for the last one year. In the game she is a princess who is trying to save her dad’s kingdom from enemies.
Although she hasn’t acknowledged any, her name has been linked up with many, including celebrities, director Sanjay Gupta and Telugu actor Junior NTR prominent among them. IKLAN

Sizzling Sameera Reddy's secret

IKLAN
bollywood_actress_hot_sam5666

Sameera Reddy wasn’t a sexy, sultry babe when she started her career. On the contrary, there was quite a lot of baby fat that Sam had to shed before acquiring that ultra-sexy figure. But surprise, surprise, at a recent do, the hottie revealed that she is a big foodie. “I have an extremely sweet tooth, and I like all kinds of cuisine. Having said that, I then spend time in watching the number of extra calories I’ve gained and compensating for them in the gym! We all love to overdo eating, knowing that we shouldn’t overdo it!” she smiled. Words of wisdom, eh?

Bollywood Actress Sameera Reddy Interview

IKLAN
Sameera Reddy fans and admirers, who loved her dumb bimbo act with Anil Kapoor in Abbas-Mastaan’s RACE, will find it difficult to recognize her in Buddhadeb Dasgupta’s just-released Bengali film KAAL PURUSH (Memories in the Mist.) Sameera flew down for the premiere to Kolkata and flew back even before the film was over. Her role in KAAL PURUSH was followed by another role in Dasgupta’s latest film THE VOYEURS. Our correspondent spoke to the very friendly and beautiful Sameera

Considering that your debut in films began only in 2002 with MAINE DIL TUJHKO DIYA, you have come a long way, right?
I consider myself lucky to have worked with the best directors in the industry. It has not been easy but it is not easy for anyone in the industry. It is an uphill climb for all of us here, including Shahrukh Khan. I have worked with directors ranging from Sanjay Gupta through Ram Gopal Verma to Buddhadeb Dasgupta and Aruna Raje. I worked with Mira Nair though that was for a short film MIGRATION, screened at the Toronto Film Festival in 2007. I play a housewife who is HIV+. THE VOYEURS, my second film with Buddha-da, was screened at the same festival.

How did it all begin?
When I was still studying at the Sydenham College in Mumbai, I happened to be chosen for a Pankaj Udhas video called ‘Aashita’. My sisters, Meghna and Sushma were also very inspiring for me. I used to be a fun-loving, happy-go-lucky girl in college. But after this video, I became serious and decided to concentrate on two things – training in Kathak and acting in films. After my debut in MAINE DIL TUJHKO DIYA, I did two Telugu films, NARASIMHUDU and JAI CHIRANJEEVA.

How do you look at the polarities between the two characters you have played in RACE and KAAL PURUSH?
I am not bothered about polarities because the films are different, the directors are different and even the audience is different. Though I consider myself a spontaneous actress, I need a director to guide me so that it makes me a director’s actress as well. Playing a dumb bimbo in RACE is equally important to me as is playing Supriya in Buddha-da’s KAAL PURUSH. I was looking for a comic role after serious stuff like Sanjay Gupta’s MUSAFIR and Ram Gopal Verma’s DARNA MANA HAI. I am thrilled that the film is a big hit. KAAL PURUSH on the other hand, thanks to Buddha-da, really made me understand and learn to love what I was doing.

How close are you to Supriya, the ambitious housewife you played in KAAL PURUSH?
I loved the character of Supriya because it has several shades to it, beginning as a hard and bitter woman and then, unable to cope with a husband who turns out to be a ‘failure’ by her definition, she slowly realises that she must become independent. The great American dream is just a trigger to turn her into a writer of travelogues on places she has never visited but has seen only on video. Love for Supriya, slowly turns to pity, as her husband tells his father at one point in the film. I do not equate any character I play with my real self as Sameera, the woman and Sameera, the actress. An actress need not be ‘close’ or ‘distant’ to a character.

Which scene in the film do you carry with you in your heart?
I love the scene in which I play the prostitute who the hero suddenly visits one night. She finds his behaviour rather strange especially when he asks her, ‘why don’t you put on your sari?’ Then, with a sad and puzzled expression on her face, she says, “You won’t begin to pull at it again, will you?” She somehow feels he is a good man but is confused and sad. It is a scene I will carry with me forever. Thanks to Buddha-da, he really pushed me beyond my expectations. That is why when he asked me whether I would like to feature in THE VOYEURS; I did not even ask him for the script. It has been a pleasure working with him.

You are much disciplined in your daily life, we hear.
I wasn’t before. But after I began training in Kathak from Pandit Viru Krishna Maharaj and then entered films, my life changed forever. I am grateful to Guruji for having taught me how to use Kathak in a film situation. Today, I wake up early, do my yoga, followed by my Kathak riyaaz, regular work out and I am sorted for the day. My turning point came with MUSAFIR and though I have had my share of flops, there have been milestones too. KAAL PURUSH is my career best till date. The film and the director helped me develop a new dimension – imbibing the Bengali culture in terms of its language, its food, the way a woman like Supriya dresses, making me fall in love with our traditional mode of dress – the sari.

Your future projects?
I am playing the female lead, a Naxalite, in Aruna Raje’s RED ALERT on the contemporary nationalist movement. It explores and shows how circumstances decide the destiny of a person who evolves into a Naxalite in course of time. Along with me are Sunil Shetty, Ayesha Dharkar and Naseeruddin Shah. Then there is MAHAYODDHA RAM, an animation film where I have done the voice-over for ‘Sita’, and two more comedies about which I am not supposed to say much at this point.
