“I simply love Malayalam films”: Dimple Kapadia

Seasoned Bollywood actress Dimple Kapadia Thursday expressed her desire to do a full length Malayalam film with superstar Mammootty.

“I like Mammootty so much and if I am to do a full length Malayalam film again, I would like to act with him,” Dimple told media at the preview show of her debut Malayalam movie “Bombay Mittai”.

In “Bombay Mittai”, Kapadia has a small role and acts alongside former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh.

“In this film, I had five scenes, out of which two were cut out, but nevertheless I enjoyed my time here in Kerala. I was so tensed when I got the offer to act in this Malayalam film. I had to do a lot of homework,” said Dimple.

“I would like to do a role that has something to do with mysticism or even a supernatural one,” she added.

The actress is all praise for the content used in Malayalam movies.

“I simply love Malayalam films because they do great cinema and there is a whole lot of effort that goes into it. Of course, I do watch Malayalam films, but please don’t ask me, which are the ones that I saw.”

Dimple Kapadia resumed her second innings in Bollywood

IKLAN Old is definitely gold. There was something magical about their screen pair. It was not just about chemistry and biology, but something else, which defined them and touched millions of hearts. Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia first came together on screen for the late Raj Kapoor’s teenage love story ’Bobby’, a film which became a hit and made stars out of these two youngsters.

Dimple, however, surprised all, with her decision to get married to Rajesh Khanna , the then reigning superstar, and retire from films after her phenomenal debut in ’Bobby’. But circumstances brought her back to films. Once more, she was cast opposite Rishi, in Ramesh Sippy’s ’Saagar’, which became her comeback movie. ’Saagar’ was a success and Dimple resumed her second innings in Bollywood.

But Rishi and she came together again only years later for a movie called ’Pyaar Mein Twist’ in 2005, which really didn’t do so well. But the pair is getting their due from young director Nikhil Advani, who is planning his next film, ’Patiala House’, where Rishi and Dimple will be seen together once again. ’Patiala House’ will go on the floors in December and is being planned for a release during next Diwali.

Besides, Rishi and Dimple, the film will also star Akshay Kumar and Anushka Sharma. Rishi and Dimple are one of the few truly charismatic filmi jodis around. Of course, Rishi also formed a terrific screen pair with his wife Neetu. The two were also seen again for a brief moment in Imtiaz Ali’s ’Love Aaj Kal’. Even though Rishi and Dimple will not be dancing around trees and singing songs, it will still be good to see them together again.

Dimple Kapadia had married actor Rajesh Khanna six months before the release of her first film, Bobby.
