Actor Arjun Rampal brought in his 38th birthday in style - he turned DJ at his club LAP in Samrat Hotel in the capital.

The actor, who was here with his wife Mehr Jessia, invited a host of celebrities, including superstar Hrithik Roshan, for his birthday Friday.

Hrithik’s wife Sussanne posted on Twitter: ’In the capital H (Hrithik) and me to celebrate Arjun’s birthday. Had an outstanding time last night in LAP! Thank you Mehr and Arjun. Happy happiest year ahead!’

Actor Jacky Bhagnani too enjoyed the bash.

Arjun Rampal talks about 26/11 incident

That his birthdate ‘26/11’ now also happens to be a painful reminder for the city of the terror attacks that rocked the nation in 2008 continues to be something that actor Arjun Rampal’s acutely aware of.
There’s no denying that the date does weigh heavy at the back of Rampal’s mind, but the actor clarifies that it’s the same as every Mumbaiikar.
“The terror attacks were devastating, no matter what the date. Had it happened on any other date, it would still have been an equally tight slap on the face of humanity,” he says. And though the actor admits that ‘moving on’ is hardly easy considering the lives lost, ‘life does go on’!
“For me it’s always going to be a reminder of why we need to respect and treasure humanity. I also pray for the innocent victims who’ve lost their lives. Whether we admit it or not, life’s not been the same. I think the ones left behind, including those who were watching it on their TV sets thousands of miles away, now value what they have more.”
There were rumours of him having a close call that year on the day, but Rampal dismisses it all insisting that it’s something that he’d rather not talk about. “Too much has been lost for anything to be said,” he feels.
Bringing in his birthday on a positive note, Rampal will be in Delhi with family and his set of close friends at his nightclub. It’s been a good year for the actor as he’s seen recent successes at the box office with films like Rajneeti and Housefull.
“I will be planning the weekend in Delhi, before I fly off to Dubai next week,” he reveals about his birthday plans.
Personally, Rampal’s on a high and work-wise too it couldn’t have been better. As for his birthday wish, “Well, I’m just thankful to God for whatever I have been blessed with,” he signs off.

Arjun Rampal has come up with different weapon

Hot and handsome Arjun Rampal has come up with another weapon to woo his female fan following. Joining the band wagon of the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Shilpa Shetty, Rampal too is all set to become one of those actors who have launched their own perfume line.
The perfume to be launched next month is aptly title ‘Alive’ and is an evening perfume exclusively for women designed by a French company. Arjun has quite a reason to be very apprehensive about the success of the brand as he has taken keen and active interest, involvement and participation in the making of the perfume as well as the selection of the fragrance. He met the company’s executives when he was in Europe last month.

If any of the girls are still not convinced, Arjun takes an additional effort by wooing them with his perfectly toned body as he goes bare-chested for the ad shoot of the perfume. What more could you ask for, girls???

Did you feel sidelined with two women on the sets of We are Family?
No, I just felt I was like a ping pong ball. Kajol came to sets, made you cry without glycerine and then went back to her book. Kareena and I are foodies so after every shot we would discuss where to have
dinner.

QDid you get along well with Kajol and Kareena?
Doing emotional scenes with Kajol is really special and I have got quite a few of them! Kareena is in great form. This is not an easy film to act in, as you have two strong performances given by Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon in the original, but it is amazing to see how Kajol and Kareena bring their own something to the characters.

Q What was it like to play a father onscreen?
It was very easy as I am a father myself. Similarly, Kajol is a mother and I have seen her with her daughter, Nysa - very hands on and protective. She’s also the same in the film. Kareena was perfect casting; she is brilliant with kids. I love children. I think they bring a beautiful energy to the sets. All the three kids in the film were amazing. They knew their lines and did not talk in a sing-song style which can be very irritating.

QAt home, how easy is it to handle your kids?
At home I’m the good cop and my wife, Mehr is the bad cop. Whatever my kids ask from me, they get it.

QWhat does family and marriage mean to you?
I have a very glamorous woman as my wife. I come from a broken home so I work harder on my marriage. I have a very nice family and I don’t want to rock the boat.
Family to me is about the ability to give unconditional love and stand by each other in good and bad times. It is about looking after each other, being sensitive and telling the truth. If my wife lies to me about liking my film, I would feel bad. Also, one should be able to accept the truth.

Ever since Arjun Rampal has completed shooting for Karan Johar’s We Are Family, the actor has not stopped gushing about his co-stars Kajol and Kareena.

“I had a great time shooting with them. Kajol likes it when you don’t invade her space and respect it. But otherwise she is a lot of fun. She is a brilliant actress and a personal favourite among all my female co-stars. She is so good that your eyes well up with tears when she is emoting on screen. She is phenomenal and so is Kareena,” says Arjun.

Despite being sandwiched between two phenomenal actresses, Arjun has managed to hold his own in the movie. “It’s not easy but then I have managed to stand apart amongst five talented actors in Rajneeti. However, yes I have to work hard to be noticed in any film, not just this one. These days there are very few solo hero films. The film is the star today. Even if you put in individual efforts, if the film is not right, it is bound to fail. No one comes to see me as an individual actor; it is the team effort that works. Any role isn’t just about negative or positive emotions because there is good and bad in all of us. Thanks to the media, today the audiences know that you do not necessarily have to have an image,” adding, “By the way I am the solo male lead in this film.”

While he is busy romancing the ladies in We Are Family, the actor is looking forward to Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra One. “It is the most physically challenging role that I have ever played. It is a look-oriented role. It is an ambitious film, which will remind you of the erstwhile superhero films. I can’t reveal more than that,” he concludes.

In Karan Johar’s Stepmom remake, We are Family, Arjun essays Ed Harris’ role from the original. Kajol and Kareena Kapoor play the women in his life.

Arjun, who is looking forward to the film’s release, says, “I can’t reveal much about the film at the moment, but yes, I am cast with Kajol and Kareena - both of whom are powerhouse performers. It’s a beautiful film with two lovely actresses and tells the story of three children. You’ll need to carry a lot of tissues while watching the movie. It’s the kind of movie I believe in.”

Despite the film’s intense subject, Arjun says working on it has almost felt like a holiday. “Kajol has always been my favourite actor, while Kareena is more of a buddy... It’s wonderful to have two gorgeous actresses as my co-stars. There was a comfort level between us, so we didn’t have any problems during the shoot,” says the actor.

Pakistan can become a leading location for Bollywood

Raj Kumar Santoshi may have moved Lahore in his adaptation of the play "Jis Lahore Nahin Dekhya Woh Jamiya Nahin" to Hyderabad, but filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt is all set to shoot an entire Bollywood film - a Hindu-Muslim love story - in Pakistan’s cultural capital.

The romance saga will star Pakistani singing sensation Noumad opposite an Indian girl who’s still to be finalised. The untitled film will be directed by Mohit Suri who had earlier made "Awaarapan " - a small portion of which was shot in Lahore.

"It is a pre-partition ’Titanic’. It’s a story of intense love between two culturally-crossed individuals during times of abject hatred. It’s the story of a Muslim boy who saves the Hindu girl from his own people and gives up his life in protecting her," Bhatt told IANS.

"We’re introducing a new star from Pakistan and a completely new girl from Bharat (India). The Pakistani boy is Noumad, a singing sensation in his country," said the filmmaker who has worked with quite a few Pakistani artists, including actress Meera in "Zeher".

This would be the first Bollywood film to be shot entirely in Pakistan.

"We’ll, of course, shoot the entire film in Lahore since that’s where the film is located. We’ll be using their infrastructure and work force. The cultural secretary and the governor of Punjab have extended whole-hearted support to our film," said Bhatt.

The director feels Pakistan can become a leading location for Bollywood.

"But first we must shed this Pak-phobia. It took me five years to create friendship across the border before we at Vishesh Films began to collaborate with Pakistan to make films. Such things cannot happen overnight.

'The Reinvention of Arjun Rampal' screams the headlines from the latest issue of MW. If the headline was not catchy enough, trust Arjun to do the rest. If we had the option of coining the headline, we would have hit the nail on the head stating 'Arjun Like Never Before...Never Ever After'. Having said so, one must admit that the current issue of MW is a killer, from the word go!

For all those who loved to hate and hated to love the on-screen Arjun 'Mukesh Mehra' Rampal in the blockbuster Om Shanti Om, and thought that this role must have been a cake-walk for the dude, then, here's the real story. It happened on a New Year's Eve, SRK and Farah dragged him into a bathroom and told him about his 'characterless' role in OSO. When Arjun was very skeptical about doing a negative role thinking of the impact it will have on his kids, the omnipresent SRK simply told him "Do this one film for yourself. You'll do plenty for your kids!" Can SRK ever go wrong?
Even the way Arjun bagged his role in Don is quite interesting in itself. Farhan says, "I'd earlier wanted him for a role in Lakshya, but he'd been busy. I'd seen him with his kids on holiday and thought he could draw on that for the character". Though Arjun's was ready to play Pran's role in the new Don "as long as you don't put me in spandex and make me walk the tightrope". Well, the rest...as they is history!
Each and every film of Arjun's is surely a milestone in itself. This also includes the 'cult-and-still-cultivating' landmark film Rock On. Arjun cannot express his joy in words as he says, "One of my most cherished moments after Rock On was when Amitji (the Big B) came and hugged me at the premiere of The Last Lear." All that we would like to ask Arjun is that Amitji hugging you is alright, because both of you are stars! But what about your zillions and counting fans out there, who are hoping to get a 'jaadu ki jhappi' from their Rockstar of Bollywood, Arjun Rampal!
There's surely something about Arjun that takes him places, keeps him in the good books of one and all. You will rarely (read 'never') find him bitching about any co-star or director. Who will not want to cast Shah Rukh in his venture

When Shah Rukh Khan cast Arjun Rampal in his magnum opus, Om Shanti Om, he perhaps had no idea that he was being screen tested for the latter’s latest. At least that’s what it looks like to us considering the latest from the grapevine. Apparently, Arjun is hoping to cast SRK for his forthcoming production. While nothing has been finalized, Arjun is playing as safe as he can. He says, “As of now, I have not spoken about what I am going to produce. These are all false rumors.” He adds, “Who will not want to cast Shah Rukh in his venture? His contribution is immense. But you need the right script as well. When I do have one, I will approach him.”

Arjun was a successful ramp model before he ventured into acting. While most of his films went down under, his performance was commendable in each. Soon, Arjun took a detour and got into producing films. Nevertheless, his first project titled, I See You, failed miserably.

After, modeling, acting and producing do we see him taking the director’s baton as well? He laughs it off by saying, “I am not directing. I am happy being an actor.” As long as we get to see more of this handsome hunk, we are not complaining.

Rock fans had a blast of a time in Pune when new rock stars in the block, Farhan Akhtar, Luke Kenny, Purab Kohli and Arjun Rampal performed live. As a part of the promotional drive for their forthcoming movie, Rock On, the stars belted out numbers from the music based film. to support them on stage were the music composers, Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan and Loy.

The actors had a good time making the film as was evident by the chemistry they shared during this outdoor campaign. Songs from Farhan’s directorial debut, Dil Chahta Hai were also belted out and the Pune audience just went berserk. Speaking about the experience of performing live, Farhan said, “I am very excited about this performance. They (Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy) are amazing musicians. To be standing next to Shankar on stage is an experience in itself. I am never going to forget it.”

On a lighter note, Arjun, who had to learn playing the guitar, said, “That’s the good thing about our profession. You never know when we will actually need to make use of one of the things we have learnt for our films. For all you know, tomorrow I will be forced to sit on the streets with a bowl in hand, singing songs for a living.” While we agree, that Arjun hasn’t seen many hits of late, we are sure, with his looks, he can do way better than sing on the streets for some moolah.
