Amisha Patel, born June 9, 1976, also known as Ameesha Patel, is an Indian Bollywood actress. Making her acting debut in the blockbuster Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai (2000), Patel won critical praise for her performance in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which became one of the biggest hits in the history of Hindi cinema. She would subsequently star in a number of films, most of which proved unsuccessful at the box office. However, her performance in the 2006 film Ankahee, received critical recognition, and she followed it with a supporting role in the hit Bhool Bhulaiyaa.

Shah Rukh Khan has turned down the offer to play Raj Thackeray in Raju Kokate’s forthcoming release Mumbai Tiger.

Ashutosh Gowariker, who directed Khan in Swades, approached the actor about portraying the part, however, Khan was not keen to reunite their partnership after their initial film flopped at the box office, reports The Times Of India.

“Ashutosh even told Shah Rukh that they could co-produce the film and he had no issues with Shah Rukh’s style of working on commission basis. But even this did not evoke a favourable response,” a source told the newspaper.

Marathi film and stage actor Ashok Shinde has now been lined up to play the politician it has been speculated that he bears semblance to.

So Ameesha Patel and Vikram Bhatt have spilt. Whilst Ameesha is dating businessman Kanav Puri and flaunting her new love all over town, her ex, Vikram is flying solo with his film projects for now. Ameesha on the other hand is not exactly flooded with work and film schedules in the Bollywood marquee.

And reports of her being in and out of Billo Barber, the Hindi remake of the Malyalam film, Katha Parayumbol starring Shah Rukh Khan isn’t helping matters either.

But it’s not as if she’s not being offered films, it’s just that she turns them down for various reasons, one being "the film is not too commercial," as she apparently told a director, who narrated a script to her, and thinking that her role in Billo Barber was minuscule.

Now, pray, what kind of reasoning is that when it comes to selecting her parts? Or did she have a deeper, economic meaning to the phrase that we didn’t quite comprehend? Or maybe she’s just not interested in Bollywood anymore and is ready for domesticity with Kanav?

New Delhi, (IANS) Bollywood actress Amisha Patel, who recently broke off with her director-boyfriend Vikram Bhatt, was spotted with a tall, young man, rumoured to be her new boyfriend, on the first day of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) here.

The actress attended style guru Namrata Joshipura’s and designer duo Gauri and Nainika Karan’s show Wednesday.

The actress, flaunting a bright orange knee-length dress, wasn’t present at the WIFW for any specific designer or fashion show.

“I think all designers are equally good and I am not here for any particular designer,” she said.

However, before she could complete her sentence, her new escort pulled her away.

The couple was seen cosying up during the show.

Arindam wants to create a market for good cinema

Management guru-turned-Bollywood producer Arindam Chaudhary whose recently released “Mithya” earned critical acclaim, said he wanted to create a market for good cinema by producing movies meant for niche audiences.

“I want to make some qualitative investment in Bollywood and make a market for good cinema,” Chaudhary told IANS on the sidelines of the WIFW.

He also added that the frequency of visiting a cinema hall has increased among cine-goers, who also wish to watch good cinema.

The producer was at the fashion extravaganza to attend ace designer Rohit Bal’s show.

“I am 24″, “The Last Lear” and “Sunglass” - three films produced by his production company Planman Motion Pictures three films, are lined up for release over a period of three months, respectively in June, July and August this year.

Ayaan Ali Khan is not in a hurry for a honeymoon

Sarod player Ayaan Ali Khan, who recently married Neema Sharma, said he has a number of things lined up since his marriage causing a delay in their honeymoon.

“There has been a lot happening ever since our wedding, and a number of things are lined up. Our honeymoon will also fall in line soon,” he told IANS.

Commenting on how it feels being married, he said: “It feels great”.

The couple was spotted Wednesday at the Chivas Lounge set up at the WIFW here.

Sagarika Ghatge likes light make-up

Sagarika Ghatge aka Preeti Sabarwal of “Chak De India” fame says that she is only comfortable with light make-up.

The actress was present at the WIFW Wednesday for a make over at Salon Di Wills.

“I always use light make-up and that is what I asked Ambika (Pillai, a makeup artist) to do. I am happy with the results.

Commenting on the Ghatge makeover, Pillai said: “She has fair skin colour and sharp features. It wasn’t tough at all to do her make-up. As instructed I used lighter shades like grey and black.”
